He also recorded a top three UK chart hit 1995, performing Living Next Door To Alice with band Smokie.

Brown - real name Royston Vasey - has courted controversy over the years with his explicit jokes, containing themes including sex and race.

“Roy is the undoubted King of Comedy,” information on the Ticketsource website explained.

“Countless DVDs, numerous books & CDs and thousands of live shows, in a career spanning the decades.

“His millions of fans worldwide are still testimony to the fact, that even in these ongoing crazy times of woke, cancellation and political correctness culture, Roy is still the Best of the Best.

“If easily offended, please stay away.”

Brown will appear at Blackfriars on Friday, May 23 (7.30pm).

Tickets - for over 18s only - cost £30 and are available here.

There will also be a support act.
