Boston man sentenced in court after protest in front of CCTV cameras
A Boston man who was riled by CCTV cameras being put up on a private property took to appearing naked in front of them in protest.
David Holland, 49, deliberately got himself seen on the system while holding his penis, town magistrates heard on Wednesday, June 4.
However, the motivation was to upset the owner of the cameras and get them taken down, the court was told.
The first instance was on April 12 when Holland was seen on the system naked and playing with his penis. The following day it happened again, although he was wearing some clothes on that occasion.
In mitigation, Holland’s solicitor said: “His plan was not for any sexual gratification; it was to upset [the owner].
“He is very embarrassed to find himself before the court for matters of this nature. He made a stupid mistake and offers unreserved apologies.”
Holland, of Smalley Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of exposure was given a 12-month community order with 40 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He was also fined £806 and told to pay £114 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
A five-year restraining order against the complainant was imposed and Holland will go on the sex offenders’ register for five years.
