Lincolnshire Police charges 40-year-old man after Boston stabbing




A man has now been charged by police after an incident in which a victim was stabbed.

Officers have said that Adrian-Viorel Barbu, 40, of Frampton Place in Boston, has been charged with GBH, attempted GBH and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place in relation to an incident late on Sunday night.

Police had been called to West Street in Boston at 11.50pm and found a man with what was said to be a ‘stab wound’.

Mr Barbu was remanded to custody while investigations are ongoing.

A 36-year-old man, who had also been arrested by police, has been released without charge.

Detective Inspector Mel Rooke, who is leading the investigation, said: "We believe this to be an isolated incident and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

“We are committed to tackling knife crime to keep our communities in Lincolnshire safe.”
