Warning over Tornado super vape
People are being warned about a ‘super vape’ containing the same nicotine as 375 king size cigarettes.
Called the R&M Tornado, it contains 30ml of liquid - 15 times the legal maximum of 2ml - or 30,000 puffs.
A European health warning has been issued about the Tornado after a batch was seized at premises in Boston.
Andy Wright, principal trading standards officer at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “Residents need to be fully aware of the health hazards that huge capacity super vapes like these pose.
“Worryingly, these products are not adequately labelled and with their eye-catching branding often end up in the hands of vulnerable young people.”
He added that they are working with police, and precautions are being taken to stop super vapes being sold.
“We continue to remain vigilant, and work closely with partners to remove these illegal vape and tobacco products from Lincolnshire’s streets and clamp down on the traders who peddle them.”
More than 90,000 cigarettes and 300 vapes were seized from premises in Boston, Spalding, and Holbeach as part of the trading standards operation Nivada.

Anyone selling illegal vape or tobacco products should be reported to www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer or to 0808 223 1133, or report anonymously online at keep-it-out.co.uk/anonymous-reporting
From June 1 it will be illegal for businesses to sell or supply single-use or ‘disposable’ vapes. Reuseable vapes are those with a rechargeable battery and a refillable liquid tank or pod.
