Robina was surprised to come third and said: “I can’t believe at the age of 94 that I have won something.”

She proudly wore the rosette and received her prize money of £1, which she is going to use to treat herself to a packet of imperial mints.

Louise Saunders, the activities coordinator at Wood Grange who entered her in the competition, said: “I know how much Robina loves the garden and art. As she is unable to attend in person, I decided to enter her photograph in the gardener category.”
