A total of 16 village homes have been flooded as the county remains on alert.

A spokesman for the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum, a body that brings together the authorities to react to such incidents, said: “Emergency services are keeping a close watch on water levels at at Billingboroug, where we have seen 16 properties flooded.

“A rest centre has been set up at Billingborough Village Hall. In four of the properties, residents have remained and have had medications delivered.

“Eight of the properties self-evacuated, and four were rescued by Fire and Rescue. The A15 Folkingham Road is closed due to flooding and people are asked not to attempt to drive through flood water.”
