Children from Colsterworth Primary School, Bourne Elsea Park Academy and Bourne Abbey Academy learn about equality at a workshop with Just Lincolnshire and the YMCA

Children from three primary schools joined together to learn about the importance of equality.

The equality ambassadors from Colsterworth Primary School, Bourne Elsea Park Academy and Bourne Abbey Academy took part in the Just Lincolnshire workshop in conjunction with the YMCA.

The activities focused on how it feels to face challenges such as disability, disadvantage or prejudice and why characteristics like these are protected by law.

The children will now return to their schools and host presentations on what they have learnt.

A school spokesperson said: “What a pleasure it was to watch our young people discuss quite complex issues in such a mature way.

“We are all really looking forward to sharing the knowledge gained with the rest of the children and developing our understanding with the help of Just Lincolnshire.”
