Bourne Town Council installs sculpture at Elsea Park estate
An industrial-style sculpture of a child has been installed in Bourne.
The installation was created by Bourne artist Helen Graham in 2018 as part of a collaboration called Bourne To Create. Helen worked alongside school teacher Rebecca Beavis, who at the time worked at Bourne Westfield Primary School to encourage schoolchildren to pen their future aspirations in a project called Hopes and Dreams.
These letters and artwork sat inside the sculpture The Industrialised Child.
At the time many residents expressed an interest in making the sculpture a permanent feature and now Bourne Town Council has installed the sculpture at the entrance to the Elsea Park estate.
Town council clerk Ian Sismey hopes it will be developed further and anyone with ideas on how this can be done is welcome to email: clerk.bournetc@btconnect.com
