Lincolnshire Premier League round-up
A six-wicket haul from Dan Freeman helped Bourne breeze to a comfortable victory over Long Sutton in the Lincolnshire Premier League on Saturday.
Freeman finished with 6-23 from 10 overs as Bourne beat their hosts by nine wickets at Paradise Field.
His haul helped dismiss Long Sutton for just 80 with Josh Baker offering the strongest resistance to the Bourne attack with an unbeaten 26.
Colin Cheer also claimed 2-14 from 2.3 overs while there was a wicket apiece for Corey Young - who conceded just nine runs in his seven overs - and Ruban Baker.
Bourne did lose skipper Jack Berry early in their reply when he was caught by Dan Oldfield off the bowling of Baker for one.
However, Sam Evison and Jonny Cheer needed less than eight overs to wrap up the win with unbeaten knocks of 34 and 39 respectively.
Spalding went down by seven wickets in their home match with Sleaford at Seas End Hall.
The hosts were bowled out for 146 after electing to bat first with Keyan Gace top-scoring with 55 while opener Barnaby Dring made 26 and Ethan Lawrence struck 22.
Spalding made the perfect start to the Sleaford reply as Nilantha Atapattu and Harsh Bhandari both picked up a wicket without the visitors scoring.
Atapattu then made another breakthrough to leave Sleaford struggling on 35-3 until South African Daniel Smith took charge.
Smith smashed 18 fours and three sixes in his 109 not out off just 69 balls as Sleaford secured the win in the 23rd over.
Market Deeping were unable to topple league leaders Woodhall Spa as they lost by four wickets at Jubilee Park.
The visitors had been bowled out for 191 after electing to bat first as their mid-order rallied after a poor start.
They were 23-4 at one stage until George Woods (28), James Hook (23), Sam Malton (42), Dave Sargeant (30) and Dan George (24) boosted the Deeping total.
Josh Smith struck twice early in the Woodhall reply but an 80-run stand for the third wicket between Jamie Epton and George Pocklington gave Woodhall control of the contest.
Hook, George, Hayatullah Niazi and Saqlain Arshad all took wickets as Deeping continued to chip away at the home batting but Woodhall had enough to secure victory with 10 balls remaining.
