Bourne Town beat Pinchbeck United in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy
Bourne booked their place in the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy after recording a seventh successive victory in all competitions on Tuesday night.
They defeated Pinchbeck United 5-0 in the quarter-final clash at the Sir Halley Stewart ground to set up a last four showdown with neighbours Blackstones.
Will Bird and James Hill-Seekings both struck twice with Zac Allen also on target in what proved to be a comfortable success for the Wakes against their lower level hosts.
They created the best openings in the first half despite Pinchbeck competing well against their United Counties League Premier Division North visitors.
Robbie Ellis brought a decent save out of Pinchbeck goalkeeper Ben Martin from a pinpoint Dan Flack cross with Aaron Eyett and Allen both seeing follow-up efforts kept out by the home custodian.
Allen saw another low drive repelled by Martin before a crucial last-ditch challenge from Harry Cranfield kept the Wakes talisman at bay while Bird was off target with a good opening after a shrugging off a challenge.
A goal always looked on the cards for Bourne and it duly arrived late in the first half when Bird guided home a cross from Jack Wilson.
The Wakes could have doubled their tally before the break only for Martin to produce the save of the half to fingertip a goalbound Allen shot onto the post.
Pinchbeck shrugged off the setback of conceding so close to half-time to begin the second period brightly.
A dangerous cross from Flynn Slater just evaded the incoming Josh Balding at the back post while Luke Cullen clipped an effort wide of the Bourne goal.
Martin palmed athletically palmed away a shot from Bird before two goals in five minutes gave Bourne further control of the contest and ended Pinchbeck's hopes of a second successive cup upset after ousting Deeping Rangers in the last round.
Bird converted a Zak Munton corner at the near post before Allen was sent clear with his goalbound shot being deflected home.
Both sides then rang the changes with Hill-Seekings making a welcome appearance for Bourne after being sidelined for most of the season due to injury.
He dragged one shot wide before adding a fourth goal when his low drive squirmed through the legs of the usually-reliable Martin.
Bourne did lose Ellis to a 10-minute sin-binning for dissent but still added a fifth goal as Allen fed Hill-Seekings who finished with aplomb to wrap up the win and maintain the Wakes' three-pronged cup quest.
Deeping Rangers progressed to the next round of the Hinchingbrooke Cup with a 3-1 away win at Godmanchester Rovers on Tuesday night.
