The Deepings Lions curry night at Maharanis in Market Deeping raises £1,200 for community projects




Members of a community group enjoyed a curry night to help boost their funds.

The Deepings Lions welcomed 72 people to the event at Maharanis in Market Deeping.

They were joined by guests from Peterborough Lions, Trinity Lions, St Guthlacs Church, Market Deeping Town Council, Deeping St James Parish Council, Deeping Rotary, Deeping United Football Club and Deeping Ducks Rugby League Club.

The dinner raised more than £1,200 for the Lions Club, which supports projects in the community. An additional £400 was raised for Deeping Relief in Need from the raffle.

Club president Tony Plunkett thanked Muhammad Yaseen, the owner of Maharanis, for hosting the event and donating all money from the meals to the Lions’ charity fund.
