Deep in Kindness Hub opens in Bridge Street, Deeping St James

A community hub is ready to welcome people who need help or advice.

The Deep in Kindness Hub opened on Saturday with a team of volunteers on hand to offer support to people in need.

The charity has been working out of storage units and rented community buildings for the past four years but its founder was desperate to find a permanent home.

Thankfully a property in Deeping St James became available five weeks ago and it has been transformed into a space for the community.

Charity founder Raechell Culff said: “I never expected it to happen so quickly but the support we’ve received has been fantastic.”

The hub is based in Bridge Street and will open Monday to Saturday between 8am and 4pm. It incorporates a low-cost cafe, display stands for local businesses and a meeting place for support groups. Raechell and the team will continue to help people who need food or household items along with running days out and local events.

She added: “People can come and ask us anything and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll find it.”

The hub’s running costs are £19,500 and 47 businesses have signed up to sponsor a week each. Anyone else who can offer financial support can contact the team at Deepinkindness@gmail.com or visit www.deepinkindness.co.uk

Raechell said: “Without the support of the committee members and the community, we wouldn’t be able to do this. I’m grateful to everyone who has helped to make this such a lovely place.”
