Everards Brewery seeks new publicans for The Bull in Market Deeping near Peterborough
A brewery is on the lookout for budding publicans to run a Grade II listed pub after ill health forced a couple to give it up.
Everards are inviting applications to take over The Bull, in Market Deeping, from next year.
Husband and wife Gail Demaine and Alan Spratley last month told customers they had given notice on the pub because of long-term health concerns. Their final day will be on January 21.
The Leicestershire-based brewery is looking for an experienced operator or couple with a “strong drinks-led mindset” to “deliver excellent beer, great hospitality and create a thriving hub for the local community”.
The 17th-Century pub boasts 13 handpulls and is touted by Everards as “Market Deeping’s go-to pub for great cask ale”.
“The Bull is full of old-world charm, complete with black beams, a roaring fire and its own 18th-century carriage arch,” it said.
“Inside, there’s a welcoming main bar, a relaxed restaurant space, a private dining and function room, and a quirky cellar bar.”
It also has a courtyard with a stables bar and a large garden featuring a children’s play area and a flexible outdoor shelter.
