At The Deepings School we offer an extensive choice of academic and vocational courses. Students can choose to study an academic pathway of A Levels such as Economics, Psychology, Fine Art and science subjects, or a vocational pathway with courses that include Health and Social Care, Sport and Criminology. Students can also combine these routes in planning the courses that most suit their aspirations. Former students have been successful in securing apprenticeships, employment and university courses at some of the best institutions in the country.
Students follow a Character and Culture programme that includes topics such as study skills, aspirations and relationships. Additionally, Year 13 students can choose to take the Extended Project Qualification, which has proven to be a popular and successful course with many students. Our Work-Related Learning programme provides students with an opportunity to engage with local employers at events including our Post 18 Options Day and Careers Marketplace, and Year 12 students participate in a week’s Work Experience.
Our state of the art Sixth Form Centre gives students access to exceptional facilities, including independent study areas, teaching rooms and a comfortable social space with café facilities. The strong pastoral support provided to our young people is the bedrock of their academic achievement, and helps students to become resilient, resourceful and positive learners, and provides them with a sense of independence and responsibility within a supportive community.
