Police investigating the murder of Gillian Connelly in Gainsborough arrest 5 people




Police investigating the murder of a 44-year-old woman have arrested five people.

Lincolnshire Police have now named the murder victim as Gillian Connelly, who was found with serious injuries by officers in Wheeldon Street, Gainsborough, during the early hours of yesterday (Sunday, July 28).

A force spokesman said: “Her family are being supported by specially trained officers, and they ask for privacy at this time.”

A 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Two women, aged 28 and 41, and two men, aged 31 and 45, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They remain in police custody, and they will be questioned in due course.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and anyone who can help should call 101 or emailing force.control@lincs.police.uk quoting incident 88 of 28 July.
