Lincolnshire County Council announce partnership with Stagecoach to improve Gainsborough’s bus services
A council has partnered with a bus company to increase a town’s services, delivering longer hours and more frequent routes.
Lincolnshire County Council announced that it is working with Stagecoach to boost bus services in Gainsborough, in hopes of encouraging residents to use it more.
Routes 1 and 2, serving the bus station, Park Springs and Morton, now run Monday to Saturday from 6am to 7.40pm every 15 minutes, for most of the timetable, as opposed to the previous hourly journeys.
This comes as the town benefits from reduced ticket prices leading Coun Clio Perraton-Williams, executive support councillor for highways and transport, to say: “There’s no better time to leave the car at home and hop on the next bus into town.”
The enhancements have been made possible by the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding issued by the UK Government in May 2023.

“The start of these additional services is fantastic news for people in and around of Gainsborough,” Coun Perraton-Williams added.
“Not only will they provide people with easier access to town for whatever they need to do, but it will offer those who get around town by car a reliable, more environmentally friendly alternative.”
