Art room moves to Marston village hall
The Art Room, at Belton Garden Centre has closed due to planned redevelopment at the site.
Rachel Connolly, who has run the popular sessions from the garden centre for nearly five years, closed its doors last Wednesday.
Up to 75 art students attended each week and were able to learn a variety of disciplines including drawing, pen and ink, charcoal, line and wash, watercolour, gouache, mixed media and collage.
They would also often showcase their paintings in exhibitions.
Rachel said: â It was great having a dedicated building with everything available for the students to use.â
Rachel, who lives in Marston with son Daniel, who is a print maker, will be running her art classes from Hougham and Marston Village Hall from June and new classes will be available in September.
She added: â It will be great to be working near the village where I live. We also have lovely views of the villages. It will also be great to put something back into my local community and support the village hall.â
