National Trust hosts October half term events across Lincolnshire
Discover spells, pumpkins and tree-top adventures this October half term thanks to a host of activities at National Trust properties.
From seasonal walks to Halloween-themed events, the estates are offering a mix of outdoor adventure and festive fun.
At Belton Estate, near Grantham, visitors can take part in tree-climbing sessions from Friday (October 17) until Sunday (October 19).
Organised by the Great Big Tree Climbing Company, hourly sessions will teach participants how to ascend the estate’s largest trees using specialist ropes and harnesses.
Belton is also introducing a Halloween app trail, connecting families with various parts of the estate through folklore-themed activities.
Alongside this, the Estate has produced a mystery trail book, where visitors can solve puzzles to discover which mansion occupant “stole” a batch of plum cakes.
Across Lincolnshire, Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens, Tattershall Castle, and Sandilands Nature Reserve are hosting their own autumnal adventures.
Visitors can join Oli the Owl on trails that reveal ingredients for magical potions, blending folklore with the natural world.
Trail sheets are available for £2 at Gunby and Tattershall, or visitors can photograph trail points at Sandilands to collect their magical ingredients.
No booking is required for any of the trails, with usual admission fees applying at Gunby Estate and Tattershall Castle.
