Caythorpe pub extends capacity with 'steel giant' outdoor bar area
A pub in Caythorpe has maximised capacity ahead of Super Saturday with a "steel giant" outdoor bar.
The Waggon & Horses pub in Caythorpe has creatively extended its outdoor capacity to suit social distancing measures with a one-of-a-kind outdoor bar area, supplied by Grantham company Ernest Venues.
The ‘steel giant’ is an artic lorry with hydraulic powered sides which unfold, offering 96 square metres of space with fitted bar, sound system and lighting.
Edward Groves, director of Ernest Venues, said that the Edge Bar would provide “the perfect outdoor social space whilst keeping patrons safe and also sheltered should it be a typical British summer’s day.
He added: "This is a great union of two Lincolnshire businesses working together to help the local community during the pandemic."
The 'steel giant' bar, engineered and built in Boston, will be set up within the pub garden, while the Waggon and Horses have also erected their own marquee to also extend the capacity.
Social distancing is being adhered to by a table service only and one way system has been implemented, while booking is recommended.
Circles for social distancing are clearly displayed on the floor and there are hand sanitising stations throughout.
