St Wulfram’s Christmas Tree Festival in Grantham provides ‘magical start’ to festive period

An annual tree festival in Grantham provided a ”magical start to Christmas”.

The St Wulfram’s Christmas Tree Festival was held last week between November 28 and December 3, with people providing a colourful array of trees.

A skating rink was also on offer for visitors, and it was enjoyed by many youngsters.

Last Tuesday evening, a torchlit parade of around 100 people made its way from Market Place to St Wulfram’s Church, where the festival was officially opened by one of the church’s new choristers.

Once the festival was open, the church welcomed a stream of visitors until Sunday, when the event concluded.

Mel Brown, operations and development manager at St Wulfram’s, said: “We were delighted with the Christmas Tree Festival, there was a great atmosphere, lots of people and some really beautiful trees.

“It was lovely to see so many people of all ages come together to enjoy this event.

“We are grateful to all those people who displayed trees, to those who visited, to those organisations that made donations and our amazing volunteers who always support us so brilliantly with all our events.

“It was a magical start to Christmas for those who came.”
