Furniture supplier LeisureBench moves to new site in Grantham

An outdoor furniture supplier that uses recycled plastic has opened a new site in Grantham.

LeisureBench, originally founded in Melton Mowbray, has opened a new site in Old Wharf Road, giving it space to grow in the future.

Established in 2004, the business started out selling A-Frame picnic tables to local pubs. Over the next few years, the company and its product range grew.

In 2010, LeisureBench opened a new headquarters in Stathern, giving it the space to offer bespoke products with spray paint options, while maintaining its premises in Melton as a showroom.

Shak Patel, one of the directors, explained that the business saw “siginificant growth” in both 2020 and 2021, expanding its customer base and revamping its website.

In 2022, LeisureBench launched its sister company, SGM recycled plastics Ltd.

SGM supplies the UK market with bespoke outdoor furniture and accessories developed and manufactured in the UK using recycled plastic.

Shak said that this launch “demonstrated LeisureBench’s commitment to sustainability and ethical standards”.

The new site in Grantham will bring LeisureBench and SGM under one roof, while “driving efficiencies” and offering “the space to continue to grow for years to come”, according to Shak.
