High winds during Storm Amy force closures at local heritage sites including Burghley Park near Stamford and Belton Estate in Grantham this weekend
Visitors to Lincolnshire’s heritage sites face weekend disruptions as Storm Amy brings high winds.
Burghley House announced it will close all visitor areas today (Saturday, October 4), including the House, Gardens, Adventure Play, and Parkland.
Evening event Burghley by Twilight (6pm-8pm) will continue, as winds are expected to ease by then.
Ticket holders for daytime visits will be contacted about refunds or rescheduling.
Similarly, Belton Estate confirmed a full closure on Saturday to protect visitors, staff, and volunteers.
The estate plans to reopen as normal on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Harlaxton Manor reassured visitors that its 1940s Open House will continue despite the storm.
Most activities have been moved indoors, allowing attendees to enjoy WWII re-enactments, period entertainment, and classic vehicles without disruption.
Tickets remain available online and on the day.
Heritage experts urge visitors to check official websites and social media for up-to-date reopening information and safety advice.
