Grantham Royal Mail workers don fancy dress for the NHS

Royal Mail workers in Grantham have raised more than £1,800 for NHS Charities Together.

The team has dressed in colourful costumes several times in recent weeks, most recently on Friday.

The fancy dress fund-raiser was the idea of Martyn Gough, a postman at Carlton Delivery Office in Nottingham, after a colleague had fallen ill with the coronavirus.

He wanted to raise funds for the NHS as a way of giving something back following his friend’s successful treatment.

A JustGiving page has raised over £1,600, while £1,800 has been collected at the Royal Mail office in Grantham, where 17 members of staff each donned a vibrant costume.

Grantham postal worker Mark Beecham said: “The fancy dress days have been well received, customers have thanked us for raising a smile in these difficult and challenging times.
