Grantham resident questions why a mattress has been ‘dumped’ at a bus stop

A Grantham resident has noted her annoyance after a mattress was “dumped” at a bus stop.

Shirley Ward walks her dog to Wyndham Park each day and spotted a mattress that had been left at Hill Avenue bus stop a few days ago.

She said that the mattress was still there and had been “for a few days now”, and that it had been ripped open with the springs now visible.

“Why does whoever left it think this is acceptable and someone else will deal with it,” said Shirley.

“I do not live on Hill Avenue, I walk our dog daily to the park and I was so surprised to see how many days the mattress has been at the bus stop!”

A South Kesteven District Council spokesperson confirmed that the mattress had been removed on Monday morning (October 30).
