Win tickets to Belvoir Castle’s Flower and Garden Show taking place this July
This year’s Belvoir Castle’s Flower and Garden Show is set to be the best one yet - and you could be there.
An exciting line-up of experts are attending the show, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, and is a haven for garden enthusiasts and outdoor-minded individuals who appreciate countryside living, and is packed with nature, flower inspiration and helpful tips and expertise.
And we’ve got the ultimate giveaway - seven pairs of adult tickets to the show on a day of your choice (subject to availability) and a signed copy of David Domoney’s book Plants with Superpowers.
David, who features on ITV’s Love Your Garden, will be attending across the weekend, along with BBC Gardeners’ World’s Adam Frost, with a variety of one-off talks and meet-and-greets, and participating in a Q&A-style gardener’s question time, answering questions from all levels of green-fingered enthusiasts.
Every year, the castle hosts the ‘Best Countryside Borders Competition’, which anyone involved in garden design, horticulture and landscaping can enter and this year’s theme is pollinators. The competition is supported by the London College of Garden Design and celebrates planting design and showcases new garden designers and horticulturists in their careers. Take inspiration from the stunning border displays with the judges selecting a deserving winner over the weekend.
Little ones can engage in children’s gardening sessions led by Karen Gimson from BBC Radio Leicester, showing little ones how to pot up, water and label pollinator plants, which they can then take home and nurture. Karen will also show families how to get into gardening and give tips on growing plants with children in mind.
For the adults, Paula Routledge will be leading floral demonstrations, showcasing the best of British flowers and how to arrange them using sustainable techniques. There will also be live music from vintage singer Johnny Victory and unique shopping opportunities from small businesses.
Andy Tudbury, head gardener at Belvoir Castle and founder of the show, said: “The Flower and Garden Show is all about bringing our community closer to gardening, making it accessible and functional, but also inspirational and we have a wonderful group of experts helping us to do this.”
“We’re really excited to have Karen and Paula join the line up and each of them brings individual skills, specific interests and specialisms to the show which we think our visitors will enjoy and appreciate.”
Once visitors have explored the show, Belvoir Castle’s own gardens will be open for guests to admire including the Rose Garden, Duchess Garden, Hermit’s Garden and the Japanese Woodland, whilst all generations of families can make the most of Belvoir’s adventure playground and burn energy on the slides, zip wires, towers in the secluded woodland area.
