Sudbrook Moor Golf Club’s Levi Desmond retains Lincolnshire Amateur Championship for a third consecutive year




Sudbrook Moor Golf Club’s Levi Desmond retained the Lincolnshire Amateur Championship for the third consecutive year.

Desmond was part of a field of 63 at Lincoln Golf Club contesting the county’s 36-hold scratch title.

In testing windy conditions, Desmond brilliantly produced an aggregate score of four under par with two rounds of 69. He won by one shot and was re-presented with the splendid trophy by Lincolnshire president Steve Kellett.

As well as Desmond, Sudbrook Moor were also represented by junior member, 16-year-old Daniel Agapito, who enjoyed some of his best-ever scoring over 36 holes.

Agapito ranked an impressive 11th overall with an aggregate score of four over par, winning the best under-21-year-old in a strong field.

Rob Reid had a splendid start to his day, with a morning round of 74, to finish on 151 and 20th place.

On Friday evening, in the second round of the county's Inter-Club Elsham Foursomes at Belton Park, Sudbrook Moor’s three pairings were victorious with a final score of one up.

This exciting, spirited 54-hole aggregate result was created by Sudbrook Moor's Desmond with Phil Kidd, winning one-up, Ian Batty and Ben Bulmer one-up, and Martin Corby and Reid losing one-down. Sudbrook Moor now head to Belton Woods in round three.
