Grantham Tae Kwon-Do Club wins medals at the TAGB British Championships




Grantham Tae Kwon-Do Club students have returned home with a medal haul from the TAGB British Championships.

In his first competition for the club, yellow belt Dean Baker won bronze in the men's yellow belt sparring.

Ladies British champion, Diane Newton, won gold in the ladies blue belts.

Red belt Alan Richardson won silver in the men's red belt patterns and later in the day’s proceedings went on to win bronze in the men's red belt sparring.

Jonathan Newton placed just outside the medals, finishing in fourth place in the men's blue belt sparring.

Club instructor, and fifth degree black belt, Leigh Bridge finished in fourth place in the men's higher belts patterns division.

Fellow club instructor, and sixth degree black belt, Daniel Pearce ran a competition area throughout the day.

The event at Worcester Arena was organised by the TAGB and attracted more than 1,200 competitors representing clubs from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and a team from Holland.
