Sudbrook Moor Golf Club play for a salver in memory of Queen Elizabeth II

Sudbrook Moor Golf Club has staged its final main trophy competition of 2024, the Queen Elizabeth II Salver.

This beautiful silverware was introduced into the calendar in October 2022, in memory of the late Queen.

This was the day for players to bring out their best golf with a double challenge of the beautiful salver and the monthly medal.

It was so tight at the top that a scorecard countback ensued over the closing three holes.

Both Geoff Back and Andy Dunderdale fired up with strong back nines but it was down to their 18th hole that gave Geoff the title, his first major in the main club.

The ladies were well represented and best overall was Zoe Martin. Runners-up were Myra Evangelista, Karren Dearlove, Dee Harrison and Michelle Gayton.

Category prizes: One and two - Roger Hales, Tony Bell, Leigh Ecuyer, Scott Allison (who also won the lowest gross score of the field), Andrew Dolby and John McLaren.

The day's twos sweep was shared by an elite three of Myra Evangelista and Nigel Corby (third hole) and Ben Bulmer (sixth).
