Harrowby United beat Kimberley Miners Welfare in the United Counties League
Harrowby recorded a fourth successive United Counties League victory after a 3-2 away win at Kimberley Miners Welfare on Saturday.
Kemal Yeniberitz, Tom Harris and Jack Gurney all netted in the Premier Division North victory which was the Arrows' fifth win from their last six league games.
They had travelled to Nottinghamshire expecting a tough test against a lowly home side whose performances had improved recently.
Manager Jamie McGhee made changes from the midweek win over Sleaford Town with striker Jack Duffy and full-back Connor Bartle playing under dual registration from Stamford.
Kyle Watkins and Scott Floyd replaced Richard Kankam and Jon Smith while there was a welcome return on the substitutes' bench for Harry Allcock after being out injured for seven weeks.
The game kicked off with the Arrows struggling to get hold of the ball on a heavy pitch and, with Kimberley's route one style, the midfield was often bypassed.
Duffy had Harrowby's first chance as he went through one-on-one from a Jonny Gilbert through ball but, with only the keeper to beat, he put his shot wide.
Kimberley were always dangerous from the high balls and Arrows goalkeeper Alex Smith made a couple of good saves as the hosts looked for the opener.
It was Harrowby who eventually broke the deadlock as the quality of Gurney's set piece deliveries again shone through as he picked out Yeniberitz from a corner to head home at the far post.
Most of Kimberley's joy was coming on their right-hand side and they deservedly equalised when they cut through the Arrows defence for Nathaniel Peters to tap home at the far post.
A tactical switch by McGhee soon after seemed to settle the Arrows down again as Kyle Reek replaced Lewis Marsh which saw Bartle moved into a back three.
They were then forced into an early change in the second half with Smith replacing the injured Floyd.
Both substitutes then started to have a big influence on the game as the Arrows upped their intensity.
They took the lead when good play from Gurney and Gilbert - who were now starting to control the midfield - released Duffy whose pinpoint cross was smashed home by the on-rushing Harris to give Harrowby the lead.
The midfield battles were now being won by Harrowby and just minutes later Gurney kept up his fine form by picking up a loose ball and smashing it past the keeper to give the Arrows a two-goal cushion.
This seemed to deflate the hosts and Harrowby had two or three good chances to seal the game.
Smith in the Arrows goal was a virtual spectator for most of the second half as Elliot King and the returning Allcock replaced Duffy and Lord Marfo.
Just as the game seemed over, Kimberley got a lifeline out of nothing with five minutes to go as a rare lapse in defence on the day saw a cross headed home by Braeden Noon-Brandy at the far post.
It set up a nervous final five minutes for Harrowby when they should have been able to comfortably see the game out.
Joe Nicholson replaced Harris for the Arrows' final change as they held on for a great three points on the road.
They face another tough trip on Saturday when they visit in-form Ashby Ivanhoe.
