Colin Jackson, Paul Barker-Smith, Dave Richards and Colin Gibson also competed for the Grantham club who were delighted with how the event went.

They said: "It was absolutely wonderful listening to all the complimentary comments about our club from the competitors, with many wishing they lived closer so they could be members here.

"None of this could be possible without each and every one of our members, the work that our committee does, and the hard work all our staff put in. They made us proud."

Grantham's second team have maintained their grip on second spot in Division One of the Nottinghamshire League.

They were 3-2 winners over a depleted Nottingham side with Dylan Ross claiming one of the wins for Grantham along with two matches being forfeited by the visitors.

Adrian Oldbury had lost 3-2 after a cracking contest with Russell Lomas while Mark Oakes was beaten 3-1 by Elliot Green.

Grantham were then hit by availability issues of their own when they went down to a 4-1 loss against Eastgate A in the Lincolnshire League.

They forfeited two of the games while Ross and Oakes lost 3-0 and 3-2 respectively. Martin Gibson picked up their victory with a 3-1 success.
