Great Gonerby Blues are enjoying success in the Nottinghamshire Senior League
Great Gonerby Blues have netted a memorable double in the Nottinghamshire Senior League.
After being crowned Development Division champions, they have also tasted cup glory after victory in Saturday's final.
The Blues were 3-2 winners against Cotgrave in the League Development Cup final played at Kimberley Miners Welfare.
They had to overturn a 2-1 half-time deficit at the Stag Ground after Finlay Baker had initially given Gonerby the lead.
An own goal got Gonerby back on level terms after the break before Baker scored again to seal the success.
The Blues had booked their place in the final after beating West Bridgeford Colts Under 23s in their last four tie on penalties the previous weekend.
The two sides had played out a 1-1 draw with Riley Crompton scoring for Gonerby who then won 4-1 on penalties after successful spot kicks from Archie Carter, Ben Potter, Lewis Horton and Crompton scoring.
