Grantham Town have been relegated from the Northern Premier League Midlands Division
Grantham Town have been relegated from the Northern Premier League.
The Gingerbreads went down to a 3-1 home defeat against Wellingborough Town in the Midlands Division on Saturday to end any hopes of escaping the bottom four.
They fell behind in first half stoppage time when Jack O'Connor gave the visiting Doughboys a one-goal advantage.
Francesco Obiagwu doubled the lead just before the hour mark, however, a penalty from Lewis Darlington with four minutes remaining gave Grantham hope.
But they then conceded a spot kick at the other end which Danny Draper converted to consign Grantham to step five football for next season.
They are expected to be placed in the United Counties League Premier Division North where they will face neighbours Harrowby United.
