Former Kesteven and Grantham Girls School pupil Amy Hunt has struck gold at the World Relay Championships.

Hunt, who started her career at Grantham Athletics Club, was part of the Great Britain women's 4x100m team that triumphed at the event in Guangzhou in China.

It needed a superb final leg from Success Eduan to help the team to glory as she passed both Jamaica and Spain on the last straight to secure the success.

The team also consisted of Nia Wedderburn-Goodison and Bianca Williams whose winning time was 42.21 seconds.

Hunt was selected in the Great Britain 4x100 metres relay squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics and helped the team win a silver medal.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form at the start of this season and set a new 60 metres personal best of 7.18 seconds in the semi-final at the 2025 British Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham, prior to finishing in fourth place overall after appearing to slip out of the blocks in the final.

Hunt also ran a new personal best of 7.09 seconds in the 60 metres semi-final at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn before placing sixth in the final in a time of 7.10 seconds.

She was subsequently selected for the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, where she ran 7.11 seconds to finish fifth in the 60 metres final.

Hunt also ran 23.06 seconds to finish fifth in the 200 metres at the 2025 Xiamen Diamond League event in China last month.

She finished fourth in the 200 metres at the 2025 Shanghai Diamond League event in China a fortnight ago in a new season's best time of 22.86 seconds.
