Richard Cocks wins the Senior Olympic Trophy at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club




The Senior Olympic Trophy at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club has been secured by Richard Cocks with a very impressive scorecard of 42 stableford points.

An impressive birdie three on the first hole set the flavour for the winning round and Richard's well deserved first silverware achievement.

He maintained the momentum throughout the 18 holes, finishing under his handicap index of 18.

Senior scoring was impressive throughout the Thursday field of 46 competitors in two handicap divisions.

The leading scores were returned by Barry Smith, Sue Watson, Bryan Heydinger, Steve Furphy, Ted Johnson, Bob Watson, Trevor Whatton, Jim Carr and Mike Carelton.

There are always prizes as recognition of the best front nine score and the best back nine.

Eighty-one-year-old Ted Johnson enjoyed the best front nine score of 22 points to include three birdie twos on the third, sixth and seventh holes.

David Leslie clinched the best back nine prize with 20 points while the twos sweep was shared by Ted Johnson, Barry Smith, Bryan Heydinger and Gordon Hurn.
