Belton Woods Golf Club round-up




Good scores were recorded as 14 pairs took part in the Ash Trophy competition at Belton Woods Golf Club.

Played as a mixed American Greensomes, Rob and Gaynor Palframan took top spot on countback with 67 points.

They pipped runners-up Darren Woods and Debbie Hawley while Chris Haynes and Steffi Hey were third with 68 points.

The club's mixed team played in the second round of the British Clubs Mixed Championships, Midland Region, against local rivals Belton Park.

Played on home turf, Belton Woods came out the victors with a 4-1 win.

They had beaten Forest Pines 3-2 in the first round and now go on to play Heacham Manor at the next stage.

The Four-Way Inter-Club Challenge was hosted by Belton Woods this year and played on the Woods course.

Belton Woods Ladies came out the victors, winning by one shot over Greetham Valley. Spalding were third with Melton Mowbray finishing in fourth place.
