Robbie Boryszczuk wins the Ace Shield at Sudbrook Moor Golf Club
It was a great day for 22-year-old Robbie Boryszczuk in a significant annual spring competition at Sudbrook Moor.
Played from the back white tees, and on an index of 24, the young student's tenacious achievement on Saturday and a score of 44 stableford points were applauded by the entire mixed field of 60 competitors.
All who played would recognise a deserved set of prizes - overall winner, an invitation to next year's Ace and Robbie's first championship.
The field included 21 qualifiers for The Ace Championship incorporated within the monthly stableford.
These 21 had won main club competitions over the past 12 months.
Robbie went home a very encouraged young man and holding The Ace Shield for 12 months, a credit for his perseverance over a short career, in which golf has had to be tucked into first school and now college life.
