Success for juniors at Belton Woods Golf Club




Junior golfers at Belton Woods have had a run of success in county competitions.

Daniel Agapito won the Lincolnshire Under 16 Championships at Sleaford and also came second in the Under 18 Robert Rock tournament held at Abbeydale in Sheffield with a minus two under par score.

The girls also got in on the act with junior vice-captain Izzy Linsley getting to the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire Girls Matchplay competition.

Sisters Sofia and Lois Evison dominated the Junior Open at Market Rasen.

Sofia won Division Two and the Ian Ribey Trophy while younger sister Lois lifted the Sheilah Mitchell Trophy, scoring 45 and 44 points respectively.

To cap off the month, Darcey Myers came second in the Lincolnshire Girls Spring Stableford held at Belton Woods.

The club are holding a rookie camp this week for children of primary school age who are new to golf.

The South Lincs League season has also started in earnest with the first round of matches tomorrow (Saturday) at Belton Park.

Belton Woods are actively seeking clubs to play friendlies with juniors around 24-54 handicaps to get them experience in matchplay formats.
