Harrowby United lose to Newark and Sherwood United in the United Counties League
The tenants took their revenge on landlords Harrowby United after Newark and Sherwood secured the spoils in Tuesday's United Counties League clash at the Fruehauf Stadium.
The Arrows had won the first meeting of the Premier Division North campaign after a 4-1 success over the Highwaymen back in August.
However, the points were reversed in midweek as Sherwood secured a 3-0 success to plunge Harrowby into the relegation zone.
The Arrows had suffered a setback in the warm-up with captain Kegan Everington pulling out of the starting line-up due to injury.
Former Harrowby player Scott Floyd brought a stunning early save out of home goalkeeper Nykah Liburd-Hines before the Highwaymen hit the front in style in the 17th minute.
Luke White's corner was met by Charlie Ward and the former Grantham Town player produced a superb diving header to rocket his side into the lead.
Liburd-Hines then denied Floyd in a one-on-one before Sherwood doubled their lead just before half-time with another sublime strike.
Jav Smith's long throw picked out White who produced a brilliant bicycle kick finish to put the Highwaymen in control at the break.
Harrowby had a chance to get back into the game just past the hour mark when they were awarded a penalty which was saved by visiting custodian Jonasz Gadomski.
The Highwaymen then hit their third goal two minutes later as White's pinpoint cross picked out substitute Josh Parker who produced an emphatic finish.
It put the game beyond the Arrows who will be aiming to bounce back after two successive defeats when they host Gresley Rovers on Saturday.
Harrowby suffered a four-goal home defeat in a tough-looking United Counties League fixture with Hucknall Town on Saturday.
The Arrows had a lot of players missing through injury for the Premier Division North match and also lost the services of Kegan Everington within the opening 20 minutes of the game at the Fruehauf Stadium.
It left the home side without a recognised centre-half and a confident and in-form Hucknall side started the game well by keeping the ball moving.
Harrowby stayed in the game and should have had a penalty when Kane Hutchinson-Wilkes was brought down but the referee waved play on.
Hucknall then took the lead through a Lewis Belgrave header when Harrowby failed to clear following a corner.
Aaron Coyle then doubled the visitors' lead two minutes before half-time when he finished well past goalkeeper Nykah Liburd-Hines in a one-on-one.
The second half was much improved from the Arrows and they were the better side for long periods but just weren't ruthless in front of goal.
With time running out and Harrowby pushing for a goal, Hucknall netted twice in the final 17 minutes through Joey Ashurst.
The final score was a little unfair on the overall game but individual errors didn't help the Arrows' cause on the day.
