Maisie Mullett wins at Liverpool and Cardiff cross country racing events as part of the national cross challenge series
Maisie Mullett continues to turn heads as she defeated some of the best athletes across the United Kingdom.
Mullett won the first race of the British Cross Challenge Series which was held was in Llandaff Fields, Cardiff.
Maisie dominated that race from the start to take the Cardiff finishing tape for the under-13 Girls.
She then went on to win the next British Athletics Cross Challenge race which took place at Sefton Park in Liverpool convincingly.
Mullett crossed the line in first place after running a strong, tactical race, 11 seconds ahead of her closest rivals.
"I was really proud of the result," said Mullett to Athletics Weekly after the Cardiff race.
"I didn't expect that to be honest, I just went out there to win and now that I have, it is like a dream come true.
"Since last year I thought this event seems like a lot of fun and that inspired me to win it.
"I was a wild card when I was in year three for cross country.
"I did really well with it.
"Since then I have been training hard and getting good at it.
"I do play other sports but I just do it through school."
She added that she trained in cross country and despite enjoying other sports considers running as her passion.
