Owner of new business Cooks Interiors in Holbeach says business is ‘dream come true’
An owner of a new showroom says her business is a ‘dream come true.’
Jessica Cook, from Moulton has launched Cooks Interiors on Welbourne Lane East in Holbeach selling exclusive kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, flooring, tiling and lighting.
With experience since the age of 16, Jessica took the plunge, opening up her independent business before her milestone 30th birthday this month.
She said: “It has always been a dream to have my own business and my own showroom.
“There will never be a good time to do it so I decided to take a leap.
“It is just me with help from some lovely volunteers, friends and family.”
She has worked for more than 15 years in the industry and decided it was time to work for herself.
The entrepreneur is renting premises which used to be a showroom for a company she worked for when she was younger and first starting out.
She said: “I have come full circle really as I always said I would like to be back here and then it came up for rent.
“Everyone in my family has their own business.
“I have always worked for somebody so doing this before I turn 30 is really good.”
Jessica will rent the ‘reimagined’ showroom for five years, aiming to build the business year-on-year and eventually own her own premises.
She said: “I have invested a lot of money.
“I needed some funding and have gone all in.
“My aim would be to buy it.”
Jessica grew up in Saracen’s Head and feels her business fills a niche in Holbeach.
She said: “There is no one really that does tiles and flooring that has a decent display of quality products.
“Using really good quality does not have to be expensive.”
With events planned in collaboration with companies such as Neff, Jessica hopes to attract customers into the showroom.
She said: “I have a big island in the middle of the showroom.
“People from Neff come and cook.
“It would be nice to start doing events.”
The showroom is open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, weekends and evenings by appointment.
