Hundreds of homes in Holbeach without electricity after power cut

Hundreds of homes are without electricity this evening after a power cut.

The incident is affecting 704 properties in the Holbeach area — leaving families without power on Christmas Eve.

A fault on the high voltage network was reported at 8pm. The issue initially plunged 1894 homes into darkness, but 1190 homes were said to have had their power restored within a couple of minutes.

A National Grid spokesman said: “We are aware of this power cut outage which was raised at 8pm this evening and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.”

It is estimated that the power will be restored by 9.30pm.
