HuiFest (Holbeach Unity and Inclusion Festival) taking place at Carter’s Park Holbeach with theme of diversity

A theatre company is putting on a festival in a town’s park that promises to be an event not to be missed.

HuiFest - Holbeach Unity and Inclusion Festival - will take place at Carter’s Park, Holbeach on Sunday, June 29, from 11.30am until 5pm with performances from members of Phoenix Theatrix.

The theme of diversity will be explored throughout the day with performances, music, arts, crafts, food and drink plus charity support Haven offering charities the opportunity to raise funds and network.

Bianca Ashton, director at Phoenix Theatrix, said: “I am extremely proud of the group we have, they are working so hard.

“We are an inclusive group so we have all abilities.

“It has been a pleasure watching some of our performers who have learning disabilities and mental health issues and weren't confident flourish within our group.

A range of diverse acts will perform on the large sound stage with youngsters from Phoenix Theatrix performing some show stopping numbers.

Bianca added: “We can't wait to show everyone that inclusivity and diversity can be a real asset within performing arts. We would love to see everyone in the crowd joining in with us and having a good time as performing is for everyone.”

A bouncy castle and slides in the children’s area will provide fun activities for youngsters.

The fully licensed bar and food court offers a diverse range of food and refreshment and the craft fair will have a wide range of gifts.

It is a community-led project and enables charities to offer a gateway for new clients to access their support facilities.

There are some surprises planned along the way and admission is free for all ages to promote inclusion.
