Bethan Killelay, community fundraiser at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, said: “Ann’s commitment and enthusiasm for supporting Jerry Green Dog Rescue is truly commendable.

“Her creativity and resourcefulness have had a profound impact on our ability to rescue and rehome dogs in need.”

The pair took their commitment to the next level by becoming foster carers to a dog called Poppy in 2020, and then eventually adopting her.

Ann began hosting various fundraising activities, starting with selling bric-a-brac items from her home, as well as tombolas, collection boxes and her ‘Brew Up for a Pup’ event in her garden.

Her dedication really came to light when, when a neighbourly dispute saw the need for her to gain a business license for her home if she was to continue her yard sale fundraisers.

To thank her for her help, the charity invited Ann to plant a tree at the North Lincolnshire Centre in Brigg to stand as a living tribute to her contributions.
