Holbeach primary school receives ‘vital’ funding to enhance outdoor resources
A primary school headteacher has said he is ‘extremely grateful’ after receiving vital funds which will benefit youngsters’ development.
William Stukeley C of E primary school has received £578 through Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Champions scheme.
Pupils at the school in Holbeach will soon be enjoying the new outdoor resources, which will aid their physical and social skills and should help boost their wellbeing.
School executPeter Bellamy, Executive Headteacher at William Stukeley, said: “We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from the Co-op’s Community Champions. Our pupils will benefit from the equipment purchased for years to come.”
The school is one of 262 local groups to share £209,051.99, which was raised from September last year to March 2025.
Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Champions scheme combines the efforts of members, colleagues and customers to raise money for good causes in the area.
A donation is made every time a member shops with their dividend card, hosts a fundraising event or shows their support by giving spare change.
Lincolnshire Co-op Community Manager, Sam Turner said: “It’s once again been overwhelming to visit our community champions and see their incredible reactions to the money raised for them.
“With the help from colleague fundraising and our customers scanning their dividend cards or donating change when they shop with us, these local groups can continue to spread positivity and make a great impact on their communities.”
