Whaplode Guides and Spalding Beavers in 1996

Minds were sharpened when Girl Guides and their parents took part in a celebration quiz night 25 years ago this week.

The 1st Whaplode Drove Guides marked the first birthday of their company with a quiz.

Spalding Guardian village correspondent Gaye Burchnall was quizmaster and is pictured with Guide Helen Bristow.

A new colony of Beavers became officially part of the 6th Spalding St Mary and St Nicolas Scouts 25 years ago this week.

The youngsters all made their promise at one of the regular meetings at St Nicolas Hall, in the Vista, Spalding.
