Spalding High School and South Lincolnshire Young Farmers feature in this week's nostalgia




A male pin-up calendar was created by a young enterprise company at Spalding High School in 1994.

Cloud Nine, the company, found boys in the school's sixthform to feature in the calendar.

The boys, who were fully clothed, appeared in the black and white calendar.

More than 200 deposits were put down for the calendar ahead of its release.

Gosberton Young Farmers Clubhouse hosted the Welliators in 1994.

South Lincolnshire Young Farmers’ chairman Andrew Elson organised the event as a way of getting all the clubs together. About 24 people from Gosberton, Heckington and Stamford showed their strength in a number of welly-themed games, such as welly wanging.

Gosberton Rainbow Playgroup celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009 with a special party.

The playgroup opened in 1984 under the leadership of Chrstine Henry and went from strength to strength.

To mark the special anniversary playgroup youngsters baked and decorated cakes with silver icing.

Surfleet residents put in a tree-mendous effort in 2009 to break the Guinness World Record for how many trees could be planted in one hour.

A total of 15 green-fingered volunteers of all ages were taking part in an international planting session as part of National Tree Week.

Surfleet residents managed to plant 50 trees in Glen Park.

The seaside washed up in Spalding when schoolchildren put on a special play in 2009.

Youngsters in Year 2 at St John’s Primary School showcased the work they had undertaken since September in the play.

A total of 60 children took part in the extravaganza.

Jack Turner continued his annual tradition of inviting Holbeach youngsters to switch on the spectacular display outside his Holbeach home.

In 2009, youngsters from the William Stukeley Primary School joined Father Christmas at the big switch-on.

Jack started the tradition for his granddaughter Chloe Harper.
