Midsummer Ball and school blessing in Spalding 10 years ago




The extravagant Moulin Rouge cabaret club was recreated for a night of Parisian magic at the annual Spalding Midsummer Ball 10 years ago.

More than 500 ball-goers enjoyed seeing Spalding’s Springfields transformed into a vision of the legendary birthplace of the risque can-can.

New buildings at a Spalding primary school were given a blessing by the Bishop of Nottingham 10 years ago.

The Rt Rev Bishop Malcolm McMahon joined pupils at St Norbert’s Primary School on the Feast Day of St Norbert.

Bishop Malcolm is pictured below with, from left: Father James Burke, teacher Louise Yarnell, pupils Amy-Ann Stokes, Emily Day, Joseph Roberts, Samantha Haines and chairman of governors Tony Bray.
