A bomb disposal team was called to a police station after an ‘old grenade’ was handed in.
Lincolnshire Police was forced to temporarily close its South Park Avenue station in Lincoln as a precaution after the item was ‘presented to staff’ at the front counter.
The incident was reported at about 1.20pm yesterday (Sunday June 9).
Officers said that the station was able to reopen about an hour later - with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team having ‘safely removed the item’.
