Eddisons hosts online auction of luxury kitchens and bathrooms after Luna Living in Lincoln closes
Luxury kitchens and bathrooms valued at over half a million pounds are being auctioned at cut prices after a design studio closed for good.
Luna Living, a firm that installed the products of internationally famous manufacturers in kitchen and bathroom projects at homes throughout the county costing up to £150,000 a time, closed the doors at its design studio and showroom in Bishops Road in Lincoln three weeks ago.
Specialist advisers Kingsbridge Corporate Solutions have been brought in to handle the affairs up of the business and industrial auctioneer Eddisons is running an online auction to sell the entire contents of the showroom, as well as equipment.
There is a total of 167 lots, with sinks, ovens, and showers all in the mix, in the auction that ends next Wednesday, February 21.
Alan Maddison, of Eddisons who has been cataloguing the sale, said: “It is some of the nicest design and equipment of its type that I’ve ever seen – and I’ve been doing this for 30 years. Just beautiful.”
“It was expensive. One of the complete kitchens in the auction had a price tag of £50,000 and that was apparently not a one off. Whilst Luna’s publicised price range for design, equipment and fitting started at £6,000 it went all the way to £150,000.”
The auction also has the remaining contents of Luna’s warehouse including the firm’s Komatsu forklift truck, its pedestrian pallet truck and a low mileage Peugot Boxer Panel van.
Alan said: “We’ve lotted the auction in such a way that members of the public have just as good a chance to get involved in the bidding as trade buyers and indeed we think that this sale will appeal to people who are having a new property built or renovating an outdated kitchen or bathroom.
“Everything is being sold without reserve, so it will make what it makes. There could be some bargains!”

Viewing at Luna Living’s design studio and saleroom on Bishop’s Road in Lincoln is exclusively by appointment.
