Lincolnshire community stalwarts named in King’s new year honours list
Community heroes and figureheads from the county have been celebrated in the King’s new year honours list 2025.
This year’s recipients have been awarded for their outstanding contributions across all sectors, but in particular community champions and selfless giving are recognised.
The list ensures that people from underrepresented communities and a wide variety of types of work are rewarded, to celebrate the fantastic contribution of people throughout the country.
Lincolnshire recipients:
Members of the Order of the British Empire
Kerry-Ann Cooper (Alford) - Police chaplin, Hertfordshire Constabulary. For services to the community in Hemel Hempstead.
Raymond William Newell (Lincoln) - managing director Oakwell Management Services. For services to industry in the Midlands.
Ronald Harry Westerman (Lincoln) - founder Mid-Lincs County Youth Football League. For services to sport.
Medallists of the Order of the British Empire
Jonathon Compton (Lincoln) - Chaplaincy volunteer HM Prison Morton Hall. For services to HM Prison and Probation Services.
Veronica Mary Compton (Lincoln) - Chaplaincy volunteer HM Prison Morton Hall. For services to HM Prison and Probation Services.
Margaret Wilson (Grimsby) - For services to the community in Holton-Le-Clay.
Dr Peter John Dawson (Lincoln) - For services to the community in Lincolnshire.
Elsewhere, Stan Braithwaite, from Rutland, also received an MBE after 13 years of service to the RAF Families Federation. Read his full story here
